Great Classical Music, WCPE
Writes Deborah Proctor, General Manager of WCPE --- Professor Borchardt was one of our most generous long term supporters. He was a longstanding supporter of our station from virtually the first year on the air. Very few donors share this honor. When he passed on, he left us a very generous personal bequest in excess of sixty thousand dollars, and also had arranged for the Hannon-Hill Corporation memorial gift of $25,000 in addition to his personal gifts. WCPE also heard from numerous friends of the Professor who made gifts in his memory. WCPE is 100% listener-supported public broadcasting station located in Central North Carolina. WCPE is using his funding to support our ongoing 24/7 broadcast operations of Great Classical Music, which Professor Frank enjoyed. We also share our station, free of charge and without obligation, with over fifty cable TV systems and other public radio stations. In addition, we broadcast to many listeners across the world on the Internet; also, without charge. We have listeners on every continent, even the Antarctic. We have several schools who play our Internet music during recess and in their libraries.
Professor Borchardt's gift will help us continue to bring Great Classical Music to everyone near and far. Friends of the Professor can listen to WCPE on 89.7 FM in Central North Carolina, or on the web at
Wrote Rae C. Weaver, Development Director ---

This day of classical music is dedicated in memory of Professor Frank L. Borchardt, friend and benefactor of WCPE, who always loved the human voice in song.
