  This entirely remarkable event was held in Santa Fe, Argentina, in April '99. Click on the "Events" button on the previous screen. The Congress demonstrated the simple reality: the pace of technological change keeps moving up the starting line: oldtimers and newcomers all find themselves at the same point.

• The Events at the Centro Cultural ;Borges in Buenos Aires

  The Centro Cultural ;Borges occupies the upper reaches of an elegant downtown Buenos Aires shopping mall, the Galerias Pacifico, clearly inspired by the Milan model and originally built not long afterwards along what was to become the major pedestrian zone in downtown Buenos Aires. The idea that a fashionable downtown shopping mall should have a certain considerable percentage of floor space dedicated to culture (the Centro shares this space with the headquarters, school, and rehearsal studios of the national ballet directed by ABT star, Julio Bocca) just gives a clue to the classy, cosmopolitan character of this world capital.
